The Senior Staff Accountant performs routine and complex accounting activities requiring knowledge of systems, independent judgment and ability to respond accordingly. In this role the accountant will prepare journal entries, cash receipts audit/verification, payroll and account reconciliations.  This position also serves as back-up for the accounts payable process.


  • Perform balance sheet and cash reconciliations; reporting of any risks and/or concerns within each reconciliation
  • Prepare and process journal entries with comprehensive knowledge of each entry
  • Verify daily cash receipts; prepare deposits daily
  • Verify deposits received in billing system to deposits recorded in accounting system; reporting any risk and/or discrepancies
  • Research and resolve expenses coded to inappropriate accounts monthly
  • Manage the fixed assets system ensuring accuracy from acquisition to disposal
  • Ensure appropriate and accurate documentation for each journal transaction
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with the month-end process
  • Assist in the preparation of internal and external audit and deliverables
  • Prepares variance analysis for P&L and miscellaneous reporting as mandated
  • Review and process bi-weekly payroll ensuring applicable laws and organizational policy is upheld.
  • Generate, review, analyze and communicate financial data that reflects actual financial performance
  • Assist in annual UDS process as needed
  • Perform special projects as assigned
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Observe and enforce all company policies, rules, and safety practices.


  • College degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with two to three years’ experience.
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles required.
  • Experience with financial statements and general ledger accounting required.
  • Ability to use technology to demonstrate required skills, adapts to new technologies, and use technology to increase productivity.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
